The dairy concern Arla now invests big time in Asia and Africa in order to dispose the increased milk production to higher prices.
While the low milk prices in Europe continues, Arla wants to invest big time in the markets outside Europe.
Arla’s strategic goal for 2020 is that 20 percent of the sales should come from markets outside Europe.
The ambition in Asia is to create strong platforms in the relative new markets in Bangladesh, Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar. If this succeeds, it will give a sale of 3 to 5 billions, according to Frederik Lotz, Chief Financial Officer in Arla.
