Eurovision goes asian.
Bangkok will host the first-ever Eurovision Song Contest Asia in November 2026, marking the competition’s first multinational expansion beyond its traditional format, according to an announcement from the European Broadcasting Union.
The grand final is set for November 14, with broadcasters from 10 countries already confirmed, including Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
The contest is being launched in collaboration with Voxovation, S2O Productions and Thailand’s Channel 3 Thailand.
Could reach 600 million viewers
According to the organisers, the show could reach an audience of more than 600 million people across the region and is expected to become one of Asia’s largest entertainment events.
Eurovision Director Martin Green said the expansion marks “a new chapter” as the contest celebrates its 70th anniversary, bringing its “United by Music” concept to Asia.
Each participating country will select its entry through national finals ahead of the event.
