Danish offshore wind installation firm Cadeler has launched its new Wind Ace vessel at COSCO Qidong in China.

With the launch completed, Wind Ace will now enter final construction and commissioning work. Cadeler expects delivery in 2026, making Wind Ace the company’s 11th wind turbine installation vessel.

Cadeler is a Copenhagen-headquartered offshore wind contractor that provides vessel-based services for building and maintaining offshore wind farms.

Wind Ace is part of Cadeler’s A-class newbuild programme, alongside Wind Ally and Wind Apex. Cadeler launched Wind Ally earlier in 2025, while Wind Ace and Wind Apex are scheduled for 2026 and 2027 respectively.

Cadeler says the A-class design targets larger offshore wind turbines and foundations. Wind Ally’s published specifications include 5,600 m² deck space, payload above 18,000 tonnes, and a main crane above 3,300 tonnes at 39 metres.
