EU has just released their yearly update on airlines that are not allowed in Europe due to inadequate safety standards. More than 60 Indonesian airlines are blacklisted.

If you are worried about safety standards when you fly, EU’s lists is one of the more handy guidelines. It is looking good for most of Southeast Asia with the exception of Indonesia and the Philippines where, this year, it is easier to name the airlines that are not blacklisted than companies that don’t live up to the European aviation safety standards.

In Indonesia EU approves Garuda, Mandala Airlines, Ekspres Transportasi Antarbenua and Indonesian Air Asia.

In the Philippines EU considers Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air to be working on a safety standard good enough for EU airspace.

The list in its entirety can be found here.
