Danish shipping and logistics giant Maersk has appointed Scott Elliott as Regional President for Asia Pacific, making permanent a role he has held on an interim basis since January.
Based in Singapore, Elliott joined Maersk in 2020 and most recently served as Regional Chief Financial Officer for Asia Pacific. He stepped into the interim president role following a regional leadership reshuffle late last year.
The appointment places Elliott in charge of one of Maersk’s most important regions. Asia Pacific is the world’s largest regional economy and a key driver of global trade.
Elliott brings more than three decades of experience in logistics, finance, and supply chain management. Before joining Maersk, he served as President and Division CFO of Global Forwarding at Toll Global in Singapore. He also held senior finance and management positions at CEVA Logistics in the United States, China, the Netherlands, and Australia.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Elliott has built a career combining financial leadership with operational and commercial management across global trade markets. He is a graduate of the University of Sydney and has been based in Singapore for several years.
“Asia Pacific is the world’s largest regional economy, key to global trade and central to Maersk’s growth ambitions,” Elliott said in a press release announcing his appointment.
“It’s an honour to work with our exceptional team, customers, and partners across the region.”
Maersk employs around 100,000 people worldwide and operates in more than 130 countries. The Danish company has identified Asia as a central pillar of its future growth strategy as supply chains continue to shift across the region.
