In a dramatic altercation early on December 21, a mute woman attacked her Norwegian husband outside a convenience store on Jomtien Beach Road, Soi 8, in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.
At approximately 5:20 AM, authorities responded to reports of an assault involving significant injury. Upon arrival, they discovered a foreign man, believed to be around 60 years old and Norwegian, seated on the ground in distress. He was shirtless, wearing denim shorts, and bleeding heavily from a deep gash on his left elbow caused by a sharp object.
Blood stained the pavement while rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation quickly provided first aid. Due to considerable blood loss, the man appeared pale and required urgent transportation to Pattaya City Hospital for further treatment.
Witnesses reported that the injured man had no identification documents, and his name was unknown to bystanders. Mr. Korbsak Uisawang, a municipal officer stationed at the Pattaya Marine Services Centre, revealed that teenagers on motorcycles reported the incident, seeking his help. Upon investigating, he found that the injury stemmed from a domestic dispute between the man and his wife.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Ms. Rasmee Wongsrithep, who is mute and disabled, allegedly attacked her husband during an argument that started elsewhere and escalated outside the convenience store. Nearby residents communicated through sign language, explaining that Ms. Rasmee was furious over her husband’s alleged infidelity with another woman.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident while the injured man receives medical care.
