One purpose of the agreement is solve more cases in Thailand but also to be able to increase the number of investigations of Swedes in Sweden who have committed crimes in Thailand.

“This agreement will be signed in Stockholm on 4 March when Thai Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, will visit Sweden. The agreement will facilitate the exchange of information between the two countries,”  says Justice Minister, Beatrice Ask.

She is currently in Thailand to meet with organizations and agencies involved in combating transnational crime.

After Thailand, she will to Vietnam to negotiate a similar agreement. Vietnam is an emerging destination for child sex tourism.
