According to the Swedish price comparison site for air travel, Flygresor.se, the interest in flying from Swedish travelers has increased sharply in recent weeks. The site now sees the same interest in travel as they saw before the summer of 2019, the company says in a recent press release.
Compared to 2020, searches for summer trips have increased by more than 200 percent in recent weeks. Sofi Cederlöf, marketing manager at Flygresor.se says, “More and more people are being vaccinated and many popular destinations are reopening to tourists. This indicates that we long to travel again.”
The list below shows the most searched countries during the period April 29 to May 5. The statistics are based on flight searches from Sweden.

According to Flygresor.se’s statistics, Thailand remains a top destination as the 4th country on the list with nearly 15.000 searches between 27 April to 5 May. The Philippines is the 22nd most searched country for Asian destinations with just over 2600 searches. Indonesia has been searched 1089 times, Vietnam 812 times, Singapore 500 times, and Malaysia 476 times. Laos is the least searched country in Asia amongst Swedish travelers with just 24 searches last week.
