Swedish women design ‘invisible’ bike helmet

It’s the brainchild of two women in Sweden and their creation that has been nicknamed the “invisible bicycle helmet” is going viral.invisibl_helmet
Their concept took the internet by storm after it was featured in a short documentary created for GE’s Focus Forward campaign.
The campaign has filmmakers telling stories about innovators and world changing ideas in about 180 seconds.
This particular short documentary features two entrepreneurs from Sweden who created the Hovding–it’s basically a scarf that contains an airbag.
When your bike makes a dangerous movement, the airbag deploys.
The women say on their website that the Hovding was created in collaboration with airbag manufacturer Alva Sweden.
The helmet is selling for around $540. So, it maybe isn’t a practical buy just yet, but the idea is pretty fascinating.
