Thai-Norwegian actress Yaya-Urassaya Sperbund stars in a new original whodunit series “Dalah: Death and the Flowers”. Urassaya is playing the role of “Dalah,” a stylish florist who inadvertently gets involved in a mysterious murder case of a promising prime ministerial candidate, “Ohm-Anusorn”.

The story begins when Ohm was found dead on his wedding day among his own wedding floral arrangements at Dalah’s flower studio. Upon the immediate investigation, everyone who is closely connected to the dead groom are considered potential suspects.

Though, the mysterious death proves to be just the beginning in a series of dark revelations waiting to be uncovered.

Urassaya said that in taking the role of Dalah, the character is very distant from herself.

“Dalah has a unique way of thinking, and I’ve never approached this kind of mindset before. I had to take time to reflect on the inner monologue of this character to understand it better. Besides preparing for the acting, I also went to study Ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arranging), which is a delicate practice that allowed me to immerse myself in each step, helping me better understand the character as well,” she said.

Dalah: Death and the Flowers series is the project created by Executive Producer Prabda Yoon and rising directors like Dream-Thanika Jenjesda and Alisa Pien and the crews.

Prabda Yoon reveals the inspiration behind the series:

“I’ve always wanted to create a mystery investigation series, or the whodunit genre, which I’ve loved since childhood. This passion, combined with my interest in Japanese culture — having studied tea ceremonies and Japanese flower arrangement — led to this unique blend.”

The series officially premieres on the streaming platform Netflix on 27 February 2025, available in more than 190 countries worldwide.
