According to the Danish news channel TV2, Yen Ngoc’s expulsion from Denmark has to do with her husband having previously received state subsidy after a workplace accident. The expulsion was set to be carried out despite the fact that they have a six months old son together.

The doctors estimate that she has to stay at the hospital for an unknown amount of time and as long as she is hospitalized, Yen Ngoc’s expulsion has been put on hold.

Yen Ngoc is hospitalized because of the psychological pressure the expulsion situation has put on her. Her husband Kenneth Iversen hopes that doctor’s opinion on her situation can help them in the problematic situation.

“Her expulsion is postponed until she has been discharged from the hospital,” the family’s lawyer, Helle Holm Thomsen, said to Danish news channel TV2.
