Central Denmark Days in Shanghai

Successful MidNet

On 15th of May a very successful MidNet event was carried out at Innovation Centre Denmark in Shanghai. More than 40 participants from various Danish and Chinese companies and knowledge institutions joined the event that focused on the MidNet projects – challenges and success stories in the three year program.

The Project Manager at the Danish Technological Institute and the operator of MidNet event, Karen Sondergaard, noted that there has been a great interest in participating.

“This is about knowledge – to generate knowledge, share knowledge and think in a long term.  It is hard work which requires a lot from the participants who comes from two completely different cultures. It is necessary to give a push with initiatives like MidtNet and the result is unique opportunities,” said Karen Sondergaard.

Chinese are Open to Danish Rehab

Central Denmark Region (CDR) together with Danish Rehab Group and VIA University College participated in China Aid – the biggest rehab exhibition in Shanghai on 17 to 19 May 2012.

As rehab needs in China is increasing rapidly, Danish producers see the big market and are preparing to enter with the fame of high quality. At this exhibition, Danish producers brought their best products and aroused a lot of interests. At the same time, training and education for the professionals is introduced by VIA University College as an important part in rehab.

CDR as a supportive partner made efforts to attract relevant people to the Danish pavilion and organized a seminar on elderly care in which a keynote speaker was invited from Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau.

For Region Midtjylland, China Aid was just one of the points in a packed program with the title “Central Denmark Days”. It included MidtNet event program that has brought the Danish and Chinese companies and institutions together in so far nine collaborative projects, meeting with the city committee of Shanghai and district leadership in Huangpu districts as well as visiting a large ambulatory health center. In addition, the region hosted a seminar about the Danish welfare system on elderly care and was well attended by Chinese interested guests.
