Danish Minister’s Vietnam Visit Postponed

The Danish Embassy in Hanoi has announced that a decision has been made to postpone the visit to Vietnam by Danish Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Bendt Bendtsen, scheduled to take place later this month. The decision also affects the planned export promotion scheduled for April 24-28 also to be headed by Bendtsen.
The postponement was caused by a clash of dates with the Vietnamese Communist Party Congress to be held now April 18-25. The Communist Party did not announce these dates until recently and the government simultaneously informed the Danish Embassy in Hanoi that it will not be able to receive the Deputy Prime Minister and the accompanying business delegation in April as planned.
Instead, it has been decided to reschedule the export promotion drive headed by Minister Bendtsen for some time in September 2006 and the Danish Embassy in Hanoi will publish the new dates as soon as they become available.
