TUI Nordic, one of the leading tour operators in Europe will be operating two new charter flight routes to Surat Thani during the upcoming 2007-8 winter schedule, from October 2007 through March 2008.
These will be the Stockholm-Surat Thani-Stockholm and the Helsinki-Surat Thani-Helsinki charter flights. The routes will be served by Boeing 757 aircraft with a capacity for 235 passengers per flight.
The tour operator will also be introducing a 14-day Surat Thai leisure travel/holiday package offering travelers various options featuring the islands of Koh Samui, Phang-ngan and Koh Tao, combined with a range of one-to-five star accommodation.
With the new introduction of the package offered in conjunction with its 2007-8 Winter Schedule charter flights, TUI Nordic estimates that the number of visitor arrivals from Nordic countries to Thailand is expected to increase to 130,000 visitors, representing a phenomenal increase of 85.71 per cent from the previous total of 70,000 persons.
The 2006-7 winter seasons, which typically runs from October 2005 to March 2006, reflects a significant growth in market demand for travel to Thailand. In response to increased demand, TUI Nordic has extended the travel period for 2007 by a month. The 2007-2008 Winter seasons will now run from October 2007 through to April 2008.
TUI Nordic will also be operating additional flights serviced by 747-400 aircraft on the special routes and days in April which expect to generate 1,746 additional visitors to Thailand.
