Denmark Helps Promote Gender Equality in Vietnam

Denmark has granted 806.000 DKK to support the promotion and explanation of the gender equality law and bylaws in the Vietnamese society.
The gender inequality in Vietnam is mainly due to an ineffective enforcement of the gender equality law and deep-rooted stereotypes. Around one quarter of the women are victims of domestic violence and they have limited access to financial resources and credits.
To combat this, a new two-year project with a total budget of 1,644,000 DKK aims to generate awareness and understanding of the gender equality law and bylaws.
Denmark contributes with 806.000 DKK to the project’s dissemination of materials in relation to education, economics and politics. The promotional materials will explain the context and implications of the gender equality law and outline how to implement it in practice.
