HRH The Crown Prince Appointed Honorary Vice President of Siam Society

When THR the Crown Prince Couple Thursday morning November 27 2008 visited the Siam Society, they were warmly welcomed by Mr. Athueck Asvanund, President of the Siam Society.
 “I hope His Royal Highness will receive this letter and be Honorary Vice President of Siam Society,” he said in his speech.
 He then presented the Crown Prince with a book entitled “As Mother Told Me, a copy of the Journal of the Siam Society Volume L part I July 1962”. The year of 1962 the then King of Denmark HRH Frederik IX and his wife HRH Queen Ingrid participated in the opening of the Society’s separate library and office building.
 The Crown prince also received a Gold emblem of the Siam Society, while the Crown Princess received a Gold Buddha Footprint and a book entitled “Footprints of the Buddhas of this Era in Thailand”.
 
Traditional Thai
After the reception the Crown Prince Couple signed the Society’s visitor’s book, after which they were shown the museum.
 Here they saw traditional Thai dance and wrist bands for good luck were presented to them. They also visited a small kitchen in which they tasted a traditional Thai soup. 
 “It is a bit spicy,” the Crown Prince said but seemed to enjoy it anyway as he had several mouthfuls of the soup. 
 This is the last day of the four day Royal visit in Thailand. 
 “It has been a wonderful experience,” the Crown Princess said with the Crown Prince agreeing.
 After visiting the Siam Society the Crown Prince Couple went on a cruise on Chao Praya River hosted by the Danish Chamber of Commerce.
