New Danish Ambassadors in Singapore, Hanoi and Bangkok

A number of Danish Ambassadors will during the coming year 2010 be appointed to new positions as part of the preparations for Denmark’s presidency of the EU in the first half of 2012.
Vibeke Rovsing Lauritzen, the current Danish Ambassador in Singapore will as part of this move be recalled to Copenhagen. Ole Lisborg, Luxembourg, has been appointed to replace her as Danish Ambassador to Singapore.
Peter Lysholt Hansen, current Danish Ambasssador in Hanoi, will be the new Danish Ambassador to South Korea. John Nielsen, currently serving at the Ministry in Copenhagen, has been appointed to replace him as new Danish Ambassador to Vietnam. 
Michael Sternberg, current Danish Ambassador in Bangkok, will by the end of the year 2010, effective 1 January 2011, replace his predecessor Ulrik Helweg-Larsen as Ambassador to Rumania. Mikael Hemniti Winther, currently serving as Ambassador in Bagdad, has been appointed to replace him as new Danish Ambassador to Thailand.
Mikael H. Winther, 49, served about twelve years ago as First Secretary at the Danish Embassy in Bangkok where he met his Thai wife Ratanawadee or “Vaew”. When he was appointed tio his current position in Bagdad, he told in an interview that he hoped this would bring him closer to his dream job as Ambassador to a country in South East Asia.
