Forget signing up for Lavalife, hanging out in the dog park or cruising the aisles at your local supermarket. Shanghai singles have found a brand new place to look for love: Ikea.
Thanks to the free coffee made available to holders of its membership card, the Xuhui, Shanghai branch of Swedish furniture chain Ikea is quickly becoming the new place for people to meet cute, the Telegraph reports.
Single shoppers at the Xuhui branch have taken to hosting singles events every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon in various departments at the store.
The social events are proving so lively that Ikea staffers have resorted to setting up an isolated in-store area for the minglers, in an effort to stop them from disrupting other customers.
