Chinese renewable energy company Ming Yang Europe has joined Norwegian Offshore Wind, strengthening cooperation between Chinese and Norwegian players in the offshore wind sector.

The membership reflects Ming Yang Europe’s ambition to expand its presence in Europe, and collaborate more closely with Norwegian developers, suppliers and research institutions. Norway is widely recognised as a pioneer in floating offshore wind technology and has set a target of 30 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040.

Ming Yang Europe CEO Horatio Evers said the company aims to manufacture, partner and innovate locally in Europe. He described membership of Norwegian Offshore Wind as an opportunity to contribute to and learn from the European offshore wind industry.

Norwegian Offshore Wind CEO Arvid Nesse welcomed the company to the network, saying Ming Yang brings significant experience and technological expertise in offshore and floating wind projects.

The move follows Ming Yang Europe’s entry into the German Offshore Wind Association in 2025 and forms part of its broader European strategy, which includes local manufacturing plans, partnerships with developers and participation in discussions on Europe’s transition to climate neutrality.
