Local volunteers in Udon Thani have raised funds to help a Danish man, identified as Per, after he reportedly lost most of his documents and money.

A post by a Thai tourism police patrol said the group tried to contact the Danish embassy over the weekend, but reached an automated message instructing them to call during office hours.

While waiting, volunteers said they collected donations to cover immediate costs such as food, accommodation, and travel to the embassy for support and next steps.

The Facebook group, Kanom Homemade, which helped organise the fundraising, said the donation drive has now closed and that a total of 4,500 DKK was collected and transferred to those coordinating Per’s care and arrangements.

According to locals, Per showed up disoriented on 28 February. He identified himself as danish, and mentioned that he had travelled in Laos and lost all his documents.
