Danish celebrity hairdresser Dennis Knudsen says he has ended his collaboration with a Thailand-based business team after a troubled beauty venture left customers without promised products and sparked police reports in Denmark.
The controversy centres on Knudsen’s online beauty community, where more than 500 members paid DKK 747 for VIP access that included exclusive beauty products. The promised creams and serums, however, never reached customers because the products did not meet EU regulatory requirements for sale in Denmark.
Speaking to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Knudsen claims the project was managed by a team of Danish entrepreneurs based in Thailand, whom he met through mutual acquaintances after buying a house in the country.
According to Knudsen, the Thailand-based partners handled the technical operation of the business, including marketing, customer payments, product production and the online platform, while he served as the public face of the brand.
“They are Danes living there who work with coaching and marketing,” he said, adding that he trusted their experience because they worked with other businesses.
Knudsen claims he has not earned any money from the venture and says he was promised a monthly income of DKK 200,000. Instead, he now expects significant financial losses after deciding to move production from Thailand to Denmark.
The case has intensified after four women reported Knudsen to Danish police for alleged fraud over a separate DKK 34,375 makeover programme, claiming they did not receive the services they were promised.
Knudsen denies intentionally misleading customers and says he has encouraged police to investigate the case. He maintains that he was deceived by his former Thailand-based partners but says he accepts responsibility as the public face of the business.
“I have taken full responsibility,” he said. “Even if I have to sell my house, I will make sure people get what they were promised.”
