Would you live in a house made from plastic waste?
In Pasig, that is now becoming a real option.
The city has received a housing prototype built from recycled plastic, developed with support from the Nordic Council of Ministers, according to Manila Bulletin.
The modular homes are designed as temporary housing for informal settler families and can be assembled in just two weeks.
Each unit is around 18 square metres and includes a kitchen, dining area, toilet and a raised space for sleeping.
The project is part of a broader push to tackle both housing shortages and plastic waste in the city.
Representatives from Sweden, Denmark and Norway attended the site visit together with Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto.
The city now plans to expand the project.
