Intentia eyes opportunities across Asia

Intentia International AB, the enterprise solutions provider for the mid-market, announces its new operational plan for the Asia Pacific region under the leadership of its newly appointed CEO, Bertrand Sciard. The company continues to build its focused business groups across Asia with a new and improved channel strategy to expand its presence in the local mid-market application market.
To further build on customer-oriented focus, David Hope, managing director of Intentia’s Asia Pacific operation which has its headquarters in Singapore, will lead the new customer marketing initiatives across Asia South, Greater China and Japan, with increased attention to application sales to, and maintenance revenue from, Intentia’s new and existing customer base.
Focusing on key industries such as fashion, food & beverage, maintenance, manufacturing, distribution and service & rental, the company will look towards aligning its new and existing channel partners with industries and geographies for which they dominate and play in. Thus, its new channel program aims to equip its partners with in-depth industry knowledge and proficient sales and services support skills. These factors will help the company extend its market coverage for its key industries’ focus and remain competitive.
“Over the last twenty years, Intentia has made substantial investments to complete a comprehensive customer offering built on leading edge technology, which reduces operating costs and improves customer satisfaction,” said Mr. Hope. “This focus on offering solutions that address the needs of our customers has helped us to strengthen our market leadership in enterprise applications for medium size companies.”
To better improve sales, Intentia will be adding to its current direct sales model, with the inclusion of a channel strategy for distributing its Movex enterprise solutions throughout Asia South and Greater China. The company is actively seeking partners who will market, sell and implement Movex and will, for the first time, license components of its software for use by OEM suppliers. This will enable Intentia to extend their Movex applications to a wider customer base.
Intentia’s flagship solution, Movex is one of the world’s leading end-to-end integrated enterprise management system that is made up of applications covering Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Performance Measurement, Value Chain Collaboration, and e-Business.
“The reactions of the channel market community has exceeded our expectations, with the number of leading resellers expressing interest in becoming an Intentia partner,” said Bertrand Sciard, CEO of Intentia. “We have an excellent offering, and our goal is to focus our energy on the Asia Pacific market, which has potential for significant growth.”
“This new Asia Pacific strategy is in line with our global plan to sharpen the focus of all our business activities to generate the value for our customers, while enabling us to invest in high potential markets and improve our offering while reducing costs and expenses,” added Sciard. “Our strategy is paying off with second quarter results showing a 26 percent increase in license revenue and an 8 percent reduction in costs and expenses compared to the same period in 2003.”
Intentia will continue to embrace industries including the fashion and apparel, manufacturing, maintenance, service & rental, food & beverage, and distribution sectors as it drives to increase sales through channel partners focused on these target markets.
Intentia’s 300 customers across region include the region’s most reputable powerhouses such as Ocean Sky International, Siam Foods, Pataya Foods, Kingfisher Holdings, Tat Hong Holdings, Malaysia Dairies, Malayawata Steel, and NIE Electronics, just to name a few.
