Chinese education leaders explore Finnish teaching methods

Chinese education leaders from Jiangxi visited TAMK in Finland to learn Finnish teaching methods, school design and educational technology.

Eight educational leaders from Jiangxi, China joined a training program at Tampere University of Applied Sciences in November 2025. The visit focused on Finnish teacher education, school leadership and everyday classroom practices. The programme was organised by TAMK Global Education, which develops tailored training for international partners.

During the two weeks, the group visited Finnish schools, met teachers and principals, and joined workshops led by TAMK experts. They observed student-centred teaching, flexible learning environments and a strong culture of trust between teachers, students and administrators.

One highlight was a session on educational technology and AI, including first-time use of VR headsets for several participants. Another workshop introduced Finnish school architecture and learning space design, encouraging principals to rethink layouts and student areas in China.

Participants said they recognised growing similarities between Chinese and Finnish education policies, especially around student wellbeing and pedagogical innovation. Several returned home with plans to promote more student-centred learning cultures in their own schools.
