Thailand working on new initiatives to attract Nordic tourists

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is staying active in overseas tourist markets with new initiatives to stimulate travel bookings. Thailand is with TAT’s offices in Scandinavia, Europe, and North America working on new campaigns, targeting sustainable travel and niche markets as the offices have seen strong demand for travel to Thailand.

To keep Thailand foremost in the thoughts of travel agencies and travelers TAT are now actively participating in events and partnerships with local tourism operators. TAT offices in a list of countries participate in the new initiatives including offices in Finland, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Russia, and the United Kingdom.

In Finland, TAT Stockholm Office is working with Aurinkomatma, the country’s largest tourism operator which has reported 10 times the amount of its winter packages for 2021 to Thailand. The increased volume of bookings to Thailand was highly influenced by the country’s positive vaccine news and the Finnish optimism regarding travel being possible again. TAT Stockholm Office also participated in the virtual Sustainable Destination Congress 2021 on 18 January in Lahti that focused on ‘Nature and Space’, LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability), and reducing food waste.
