EU-Myanmar discussed possibilities for an economic and sustainable partnership


On 17 December 2020, the EU Ambassador Ranieri Sabatucci, along with Head of Missions of EU Member States, virtually met with H.E. U Thaung Thun, Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations to talk about the recently signed Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and its impact on Myanmar as well as EU-Myanmar trade and economic partnership.

Along with a very fruitful exchange of views, several subjects of mutual interests were discussed, on top of which the possibilities for an economic and sustainable partnership presented by the European Green Deal. The European Union is more than ever committed to support Myanmar in its economic development and to promote a sustainable, transparent and mutually beneficial way of doing business.
